| On November 20, 2018, the CDC issued a food safety alert telling consumers, restaurants and retailers to remove and stop selling romaine lettuce. We immediately complied with this request and removed all romaine lettuce from our cafes and our catering services.
Yesterday, November 26, 2018, the CDC and the FDA issued a revised food safety alert narrowing its warning to consumers: only romaine from the Central Coastal growing regions of northern and central California should not be consumed. As we have the highest safety standards for our customers, you can rest assured that we are only sourcing our romaine from growing regions the CDC has said are not linked to the issue.
In full compliance with the latest CDC and the FDA guidelines, romaine will be fully stocked back in our cafes on Monday, December 3rd.
In the meantime, try our other blends of lettuce and of course, there are always soups, sandwiches and sweets from our bakery too.
